Color Consulting

rcwphotographers.pngCreating original color palettes was the main focus of a course I had in college. It was my all time favorite. I would mix paints like a chemist and marvel at how just one drop of this color or that would change the attitude of the hue. I learned how combining warm colors and cool colors would deliver different messages to those viewing my paintings.  And here I am many years later still creating new color palettes but instead of for my artwork on canvas it’s now for my clients homes. And it still is my all time favorite.

Trompe l'oeil

gentlemans_bookcase.jpg
Gentleman’s Bookcase

An unsightly firedoor needed to be disguised for an architectural firm. We decided that a fun solution would be to paint a bookcase housing books and collectibles that would reflect the interests of the partners. I chose to paint it on canvas in my studio to allow more time for design and detail, and also to allow it’s removal to a new home if ever need be.

Trompe L'oeil Armoire

This armoire is painted on doors hiding the clothes washer and dryer.
I chose a blue and white tile motif to match the blue and white tiles which covered all the kitchen walls.

These Images are  just two examples of ways an architectural flaw can become a major design feature.

PAINT IS MAGIC. It’s a well known fact in the design field; the most economical way to make the biggest change in your home or business is with color and paint.
